Yep, about every stupid program that has ever been created has been duplicated about 10 times. Try searching for getKey programs in BASIC: Miscellaneous. |

I lost 3 minutes of my life downloading it hoping the description was a joke and it might actually be a desent prog--a sort of "don't judge a book..." thing. Boy was that a let-down! It still has a 7.9 out of 10; yeah, it's actually gone up! Either alot of people are in on the joke or there's something seriously crooked about the scoring. I say "vote 1" and end the cycle.
Search the file archives for "numbar". It's been ported to all other calcs. There is even an x86 OS (WTF is it doing on a calc site?) |

I think that was just a crazy thing they did when they were out of news articles.
Speaking of which, how many posts have we had so far? When we reach a milestone (like 1 million or 10,000 or something), someone could write an article about it. Lots of people would read it and perhaps come here. You could write interviews with prominent members like Arcane and stuff... I mean, if they were desperate enough to write a news article about a "numbar generator", then maybe they could write something a bit more serious.

That's good advice. At any rate I think a sponsorship 'deal' might help. Or we could apply to get on their search database or something. I wouldn't go overboard with it all; personally, I rather like the membership size here so I say we have a nice thing going.
Going back to archive thing, I'm still optimistic in the new approach. Actually, I don't think this WFRNG business is really that big a deal; but it does kind of trivialize the other ratings. But like I said, the system will probably be a little rough around the edges until the votes really start moving. |
