ok, i bought my TI-84+Silver Edition a few weeks ago, and i was surprised that it wasn't silver.. well the faceplate isn't silver.. its just gray.

Why did they call it the silver edition if the default faceplate isn't even silver?
Or did the people at staples not give me the faceplate, etc?

I think a silver calculator would be a bit more expensive than $150.

Because the White Edition or the Gray Edition just sounds stupid, and if I'm not mistaken faceplates aren't supposed to be out yet.

The ability to change my own title? Yes, I deserved that after posting 500 posts on this forum. Confused

Faceplates are supposed to be available this fall.

I think it's because they made a 83+ Silver Edition, and then wanted to make one for the 84+ too, but with the "modern design" TI is so proud of. And then it turned out that the Silver Edition isn't Silver at all, just gray.

What're you going to do? Spraypaint the faceplate? I don't think it'd be worth the trouble of protecting the screen and/or keys just to have your calc silver.

Try reflective duct tape. There's an easy fix. Razz I'm suprised they don't call it the Platinum Edition or something. Perhaps that was too over-the-top.

Duct Tape would look awful. If you have like Krylon Plastic spray paint you should get very good results.

Yes, I know that. Why do you think I said "What're you going to do? Spraypaint the faceplate?"

The 83+SE wasn't silver either, is was clear with glitter or something silly. Nor is the 89Ti actually titanium.

It's more silver than the 84+SE (well, what i've seen on pictures about it). And it sparkles!

Well then, you can cover your 84+SE with glitter! Imagine, a red edition with red glitter all over it, and silicone to protect it from falling off...

I'm guessing it could work on a black backround or whatever calculator you have...

i was just kidding...

Do you think the warranty is still valuable(or whatever.. how do you call that?) if you paint your calc? I think yes, but i'm not sure..

I don't want to do stuff that wrecks the warranty, i really need this calc for school, and i can't afford a new one.

Well, to paint it you'd most likely have to take it apart which would void your warranty.
