Yes, there are more developers for the 83+ than the 89.

Most of those are basic developers though Neutral

Now compare the BASIC directories... Laughing

Note: I'm not going to post numbers. I don't want to wait for the 83 Plus basic directory to load on my 56k.

It's like this on going battle between TI and 3rd party programmers or something. TI creates some new protection, but someone always finds a way to break it.

Same with video game systems.

Yeah, the 84+ will probably get more gaming support than a the 89-T, but the graphing tech is still a big issue. I tried a few new math courses last year, and...let's just say anything under TI-86 will feel like a step back. Compare that to a TI-89, which will basically do everything except sharpen your pencil and check your spelling. I guess I'm just looking for a "future-proof" calc. Of course, I'd always change my mind if the price is right. And $130 is good deal either way. Cool

Sharpen your pencil? Get a mechanical pencil, man.

Yeah, they last a lot longer.

As for a "future-proof" calculator, you should really think about what you're going to be doing in college before deciding on one.

There are applications that check your spelling, even though they are huge.

Yep, already there man. That's why I'm still leaning toward a 68k machine. (Or leaning away from Z80, depending on how you look at it). If I could add one more thing, Id also say an 89-T would also be more entertaining from a game-developing standpoint.
