That doesn't mean I have to coddle him either. Sometimes you need a harsh reality. Don't let Omnimaga cloud your vision, Eeems.

Ok, that was uncalled for Metagross. I never said coddle him, but we don't need to be harsh at all.

Shadowking, thanks. What do you mean dcs version? All dcs adds is the ability to keep your progs archived.

Well it doesn't actually increase any speed, or save any memory, because you do need a copy on the ram. It will just put a temp copy on it

Well, it does seem nice, and I think that dcs is the best shell out there for the calc. Are you new to calc programing? If you are you might not want to start asm yet, but if you look on ticalc.org you should be able to find some good ones in the archive.

I'm currently trying (and failing at) to learn asm. I think this is the most widely used tutorial, and it's what I'm using.

Assembly language is pretty hard btw, it is almost nothing like a "conventional" language. Try learn c first, since even it is considerably harder than basic (you can't write c for the non-68k calcs though can you?).

Since, you know C/C++ asm will be easier. Smile

have you tried any hybrid programming? I find that it helps you start to understand some of the ASM concepts for the calc if you do

There are compilers out there, but they typically require you to program stdio.h, etc. yourself. So, if you have nothing to do, you can help support C for the TI-83/84+(SE)!

that is something i am not familiar with in basic what i plan to do is use A as the virtical integer and B as the horizontal integer and move it with

:GetKey->K
:Pxl-Off(A,B //this is the cursor point turned off
:Pxl-Off(A+1,B
:Pxl-Off(A,B+1
:A+4((K=34)-(K=25))->A //moves the cursor 4 pixels at a time
:B+4((K=26)-(K=24))->B
:Pxl-On(A,B //this is the cursor point turned on
:Pxl-On(A+1,B
:Pxl-On(A,B+1
