geekboy1011 wrote: how fast do you think a matrix driven sprite flame routine would be that is what i am working on should come out ok
I don't think it would be very fast, but with xLib (Celtic 3) it might be fast enough.
Edit: YAY Post 50!!!!!

I don't know how to make it fast- The fastest might be to have a bunch of pics with the various pixl arangments in each. |

by matrix driven i meant the code would take a sprite pt it into matrix for and then animate it
idk it was a idea flawed mabey but im trying i still have a lot to learn and like you said at the beggining this is a big project for a begginer oh well im injoying it what i want to get is a rising particle animation(finnaly took me long enough to remember somthing more descriptive than a flame animation) |

OK, I don't think I completely get what you mean by matrix driven still....could you try to make it clearer (and please check your spelling), and as I said using a bunch of sprites and flicking through them would work |

By matrix driven I think he means [[1,0,1][0,1,0][1,0,1]] would make an X. |

it would be so much easier to use Hex, or just make a sprite on a picture file and grab it with an xLib command |

Okay. uhm tutorial..
Well this is how it basically works.
Start the List with 1. after that you count the letters in each word u have. So for example.
"STARTOPTIONCREDITQUIT->Str1 //Btw. my prgm runs on Str1 and L1. and it also uses L2.
{1,5,6,6,4
Btw. Add Byronseto@hotmail.com *thats me.
Im not gonna change it bymyself. But we can do it together if u want. And after u add me on Msn. u can ask me like. about everypart of the menu. I'll also give u my most updated version. *which isn't very different. (btw i plan to get sleep tonight.. which is like in 1-2 hours.) but tomorrow i'll like. stay up till whenever i feel like.
Crap.!! i just realized u have Yahoo.... Uhm.. Do u want to make a Msn. or add me on FB? *if u have FB. my name is Byron btw.

Code:
ClrDraw
Repeat D=105 //Untill u press Enter
Delvar A // We'll be using Var. A on the Sub. it will be used to track Which Word we are on.
For (B,1,dim(L1)-1 //Repeat untill All words are done. dim(L1)-1. the -1 is because you have to start the list with 1. and that doesn't count as a letter/word
L1(B)+A->A //Stores which word we are on
Text(6B,25,Sub(Str1,A,L1(B+1) //Displays the Words. It displays a word 6 pixels down everytime it loops. Var.B is which element we are on.
End
L1->L2 //We need L1 later on too. and we're gonna do SortD on it. so we can'tmess up L1 incase we run the Menu Prgm again.
SortD(L2 // Puts the Largest Variable. *So the Largest Word on L2(1. So we can see how wide the Boundary has to b.
4-(dim(L1)-1)->F // This.. is the *Pattern thingy problem i had with my boundarys. Now it is fixed
L2(1->A //Now i have the Largest Word. i will use Var. A as my Widest Boundary.
(58-5B)+F->C //Without F. It Fails.
26+(4A)->A
Line(24,58,24,C
Line(24,58,A,58
Line(A,58,A,C
Line(24,C,A,C //These are just the .. ye. boundarys
1->E //Preparing E. I will use E for selecting. The menu will also
L2(1->A //i forgot what this does... oh ye.i remember. Since i changed A somewhere up there. i gotta update it again.
Real(12,8,24,6E,24+4A,5+6E,1 //jeezez.. it took me almost 1 whole day trying to use this. And solving the boundary prob.
Repeat D=105 /untill enter is pressed
getkey -> D
If Ans
Then
Real(12,8,24,6E,24+4A,5+6E,1
((D=34)-(D=25))+E->E
If E=0 (Zero): dim(L1)-1->E
If E>_(Bigger or Equal) (E<7)dim(L1):1->E
Real(12,8,24,6E,24+4A,5+6E,1
End
End
End
ClrDraw.
Btw. the Attachment is a more updated version. U still have to put the first element as 1. unless u don't want the Graph screen cleared. Instead of 1. Put something like0.
If u have a Ti-83. Delete the Code. PrgmTIme..
