Please can someone help me out!
I am not able to connect my TI-83+ to my PC with a Black link cable. It has worked in te past. I cleared Ram tried new batteries etc, no luck.
The calculator itself works just fine. When i try to connect someone else his ti-83+ with the same cable there are no problems at all.

Black link cables are a rather annoying thing might I suggest re-installing ti-connect. |

I have the same problem
check the serial port for functioning
You may have to use TiLP
http://lpg.ticalc.org/prj_tilp/
The calculator - check [2nd] [Link] "receive"
it should display "Waiting"
Re-install the cable (ie remove serial port connection and replace)
sometimes the connection gets loose or contacts need reseating
hope this helps

Are your serial ports physical ports on the motherboard or are they on some sort of expansion card (eg PCI) or on a USB adapter?
TiLP is hard-coded to use legacy port addresses and as such will not work with such hardware; only ports on the ISA bus will work. There is a way around this (patching the cable DLL with a hex editor) if need be. |

I am using the serial connector on my motherborad. I compared the irq en i/o setings from the bios with windows and they are the same. |

As long as the port has a base address of 0x3F8 you should be OK.
TI-Connect can detect my calculator with the blacklink cable, but hangs if you try and do anything with it. TiLP works fine, though. |
