Are any of you guys hooked up with MSDNAA? I was hanging out in the lab a couple days ago and a fellow classmate told me that I could email our lab guy and he could sign us up for the MSDN AA. I did so, and now I get crap-loads of software. I'm currently downloading Visual Studio 2008 Team Suite for free. Cool

I've never done much coding in Windows before, but this is too cool to pass up.
I've got it, but none of the software interested me...even when I did use Windows!

Same here; I got the Windows 7 beta and Visual Studio from them; however the College of Engineering here at NCSU has all engineering students hooked up with a sh*tload of *very useful* free stuff. Check it: http://www.ncsu.edu/software/available-software/software_full_list.php
The University of VT has some nice software (notably NOD32 for antivirus) available for anyone with a UVM NetID.....even the guest login Very Happy
I've got access, too, but about the only interesting things my department has are VS (2005), XP Pro, and Vista Business.

I have no need for more OSes, though, and Dreamspark got me VS2008.
Yup, my lab has MSDN AA, it's excellent for OSes.
Too bad microsoft products suck.

Eh, but at least you are getting them for free instead of overpaying or (even though I know none of you would do this) pirating them.

That's a retarded argument and you know it.
Several years ago it was a bit more useful, now the free Visual Studio Express Editions are sufficient for most Windows development work.

Ah yes, I'd imagine a lot of us have checked that out. Still, it's been very useful for me for putting Windows on machines at school that I would otherwise just have ended up tossing Ubuntu onto.
Since windows is superior in some way?
