I got on the science olympiad team at my school (it is junior varsity, the coach created it to keep the varsity from continuing to be lazy
)
Anyways, I am participating in the Robot Ramble event along with 2 other people on my team. Here is a pretty good explanation of what we do:
http://www.scioly.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php?n=Main.RobotRamble and here is the playing field this year: http://www.soinc.org/events/robotram/RRplayfield08.pdf
The varsity team used a remote control car as the base last year, and we are considering either a car, or a robosapien since the motors are powerful.
Does anyone here have any ideas on implementation? I have some ideas, but I need to decide on the robosapien tomorrow since we can get it for 50 dollars ( http://www.kmart.com/shc/s/p_10151_10104_1030000000126414P?keyword=robosapien&sLevel=0 )
One design is an arm on top of it and a storage thingy on it =P
Another is a design where it sweeps stuff up into a "bay" and goes from there, although that might not work.
