Heh, that's pretty funny Smile.
that is one reason I find Microsoft funny at times.
Doesn't this seem to happen fairly often? I remember their first Plug-n-Play demo lol Razz
Microsoft does seem to like to mess up a lot... But then again, so do other companies, like Mac.

Semi-offtopic:
Actually, these two guys found a major security hole in MAC OS, posted the vague details on their site, and then Steve Jobs denied there was a glitch. Those guys found 33 security flaws in 1 month.
Thats a really old video though, and I've heard that the voice recognition actually works quite well, although I have yet to try it out myself...

@Angel: Mac OS X has tons of security holes (as does Linux), and Apple puts out patches often just like Microsoft does (again, ditto for Linux). Its just that Apple screams so loudly that they don't have security problems and that everything "just works" that everyone just assumes they are telling the truth Rolling Eyes (I feel this: http://www.thebestpageintheuniverse.net/c.cgi?u=macs_cant sums it up nicely)
I've used the voice recognition, and it actually worked quite well. It was fun to be able to say "start winamp" and it would, although I couldn't speak and have it type in any programs except a select few (such as notepad).

I had a lot of fun with Vista's voice stuff. My friend, Jonathan, has a headset that he likes to use instead of his mouse, for some reason. When I came over one day, I imitated his voice and made him angry for the rest of the day.
"Start Microsoft Word."
"Close Microsoft Word."
"Start Microsoft Word!"
"Log off."

Yeah, and I can re-list every one of those points as a reason to run Linux (aside from the ability to run OS X - but I don't particularly LIKE OS X, it annoys the hell out of me, as such I would consider never having to see it as advantageous)

Oh, and here's something PCs can do that Macs can't: Upgrade freely. Razz Want to run an nVidia card? How about an AMD processor? Oh wait, you can't! How about a motherboard swap? GUESS AGAIN! (Hell, to upgrade from 1gb to 2gb in a Mac Book Pro costs $175 - wtf?)

And I must disagree about the Genuine Advantage. How often do you really upgrade a major component? You can add RAM, hard drives, optical drives, etc.. without the GA triggering, so whats this guys problem? (besides, it takes what? 1 minute while it connects to the internet)

Of course, the PCs biggest advantage over Apple is that it is ridiculously cheaper. Like, $600 cheaper (if not more) No, seriously, Macs are a ripoff. Look at this: http://store.apple.com/1-800-MY-APPLE/WebObjects/AppleStore.woa/61064003/wo/vd5wP2DyBCwW2DXVCXZ1anpEYlJ/7.?p=0 Its $2,500. I can get a PC laptop (exact same specs) for $1750 from ibuypower.com (and thats just the first place I looked)

EDIT: Perfect timing: http://securitywatch.eweek.com/apple/apple_fixes_critical_holes_in_darwin_streaming_server.html
Yeah, I agree with Kllrnohj. The thing is they are the only provider, so there is NO competition among prices of macs! Its ridiculous! A few years ago my sister bought a mac before going to college (she has a band, she wanted garage band and stuff), I think it cost something like 4000 dollars! If I had that much money to spend on a gaming pc, mmmm.... heaven.....

EDIT: I am looking at the mac laptop page you posted, add 575 dollars to upgrade your ram from 2 to 3? What the hell is wrong with these people? its not like their ram is any higher quality than I would get from, oh, say corsair for half the price to!
Actually I'd bet money that Corsair RAM is of equal or higher quality than the RAM that Apple is shoving under the hood Razz

EDIT: Newegg lists the Corsair 3gb upgrade kit for under $200 - suck it, Apple.
I've been using relatively reliable voice recognition in XP since day 1. XP Tablet PC edition pwns.
