Are there any small distributions of Linux made specifically for laptop computers. One that supports pcmcia cd drives is what I really need. Thanks.
Sounds like you need to try Ubuntu.

I should ahve mentioned this earlier: I can't boot off of a cd drive(I only have a pcmcia one) and i only have 32mb of ram.

If anybody cares at all, it's a Toshiba Portege 3025CT with win98(not the SE version).
Yeah, you're effed. Try DSL (link in Reviews section of these forums). It's only 50Mb and bootable off a pen drive.
make a boot floppy and use that to start the install process for Ubuntu.
Meh, can you fit the boatloader and pcmcia drivers on a floppy?
Most linux distros can be downloaded as a floppy (or set thereof) that will get everything else you need, either off the network, or off a CD.

Wootness, then I guess that's the solution to this problem. Go for it. Good Idea
I think Ubuntu may be your best bet then, or DSL
Probably DSL to get something bootable installed, and then install Ubuntu via your cdrom drive from DSL.
