The USB ports are finally documented pretty well on WikiTI, but could someone with knowledge in the subject post a quick article about how they all tie together? What is used for initialization, tear down, etc.
You can look at
Linky. It should be easy to follow. Even though it is for the ti89, the port usage is identical on the ti84 (as I use the same code).
usb8x and periph8x can help as they do more error checking, but they do the same thing as linky.
