alright
when i look at my controls, then in the left bar under edit avatar settings
i see
choose avatar from pre-installed base gallery
your image avatar, with http://
when i type location of my picture over the http:// it gives me an error
EDIT:
Do I have to post a certain number of posts to have that option?

Underneath "Edit Avatar Settings" on the left hand bar is "Change Personal Photo"
If thats what you mean.
or
Underneath "Image Avatar" in the middle is "Image Scale" and below that is "Update and Remove Avatar" icons
I don't think I have that option, maybe it is for higher ranked members.
By any chance would I need NimbusOS APP1 Beta 5.1? |

What the hell are you talking about? Right below the box for "Enter a URL to an online avatar image" is one for "Upload a new image from your computer". Use that.

I think that is only for UTI members. I did not have that option until several days ago. Ender, you might just try using Google Image Search to find some picture close to the one you want as your avatar (the internet is infinite).

| OH OK. I see. In that case, try uploading your picture to something like geocities (but not geocities, as geocities doesn't support direct linking). |

| Don't do Village Photos! They we're okay until my little 48 x 48 avatar made my accout "exceed the bandwidth limit." How can one 48 x 48 gif go over the limit?!!? It's lunacy!! LUNACY I TELL YA!! |

That really stinks!
lousy cheating useless dumb evil web page publishers only out for their own good...
Where is a good site to do load an pic to use here? But until I either become a UTI member or until I find that perfect site then I guess I will have to accept the smiley face gallery...(sigh) |

Everytime somebody views it in a forum it takes some of your bandwith, this heaps up increadibly fast.
Let's say you have replied to a topic around 10 ten times, this means that whenever somebody views that topic it downloads your avatar 10 times. Now, imagine this for 25 active topic per day. |
