It's not my turn to post, but I'm going to anyway 'cause I need a routine. Here is the task: create a routine that clears (white) a horizontal line on screen. BUT - not just any horizontal line, but a horizontal line that starts at h, l (x, y) and has a width of a.
So, if I were to, say, use this syntax:
ld h, 15
ld l, 20
ld a, 10
call ClearHorizLine
I would expect a horizontal line to be cleared at (15, 20) on screen that was 10 pixels long.

And....GO!

That isn't an algorithm challenge, its a "you're too lazy to just code it yourself" challenge, and those challenges suck.
_________________
There are only two kinds of programming languages: those people always bitch about and those nobody uses. I know I haven't been very active in other forums as of late but I figure I give a heads up on whats been going on.

Project 1: Legends of Landel - Has been my main focus over the last couple of months & has been on a constant on & off working project. After alot of discussion with Fryedsoft & hammering out the game mechanics - it was decided that L o L89 will be a multi-part/disc game.

Project 2: BGC: Nene's Adventure2 - This project has been a personal side project that has been rewritten from the ground up. When I got tired of drawing hundreds of pictures - I worked on this to break things up. I recently switched my focus back to this project since Fryedsoft's free time has been claimed by his own personal Hell.

If you need more details - check the threads out over at the bluecrimson forums & say 'hi' or something. *shameless plug*

So we should end a human life instead? All options need to be considered and evaluated on an individual basis before coming to that kind of decision. It's not that a 13-year-old rape victim shouldn't be able to get an abortion(in many cases, that would be the only viable option), it just needs to be taken a lot more seriously than it is now.
_________________
Signature image removed for anti-Semitic imagery.
This code does not work. Here is a better better explanation of the problem.I have two lists

Code:

{3 4 9 10}→⌊JONL1

and

Code:

{3 4 7}→⌊JONL5

I want to create a third variable

Code:

{3 4 7 9 10}→⌊OVER

That combine the two lists and remove the duplicates. I was surprised to find that the code below does not work

Code:

augment(⌊JONL1,⌊JONL5→⌊OVER

You would have to put a cost on TBG for it to go onto Steam.
I was thinking about something along the lines of making the data files (ie, source code files) be formatted in a Document DE-readable format, or with some other header to allow users to edit their files from Doors CS.
_________________

I had an idea for an on-calc debugger a while ago, the way it would work is it would read each instruction and if the instruction was say a Push or a Pop it would push or pop onto a stack at the end of the program (appbackupscreen might work, but if the actual program used that then it wouldn't). It would also have an internal PC that jumps would use. Just my thoughts, don't use them if you don't like them or don't understand them

also, I would maybe make the menus/buttons at the bottom of the screen a little more readable, but other than that, looks good so far
_________________
there are three kinds of people in this world, those who can count and those who can't.
That assumes the user already knows when it's going to crash so they can prevent it by hitting something.. kinda defeats the purpose of debugging, eh?

Put another way, I don't think anybody has microsecond-range reflexes to break execution just before a crash after observing one before..
_________________

And from what I understand, Christians and Jews are well respected in some of the Arab lands as "people of the book," because they each have a holy book written about the same God.

Here's the deal on that (as someone who dated-ish a Muslim girl for a year and a half). Christians, Jews (and depending on who you ask, a couple others) are accorded respect in Islam as followers of the same God, and have various rights and protections not afforded to pagans. This even extends to limited intermarriage rights: Muslim men marry women who are "people of the book." Muslim women on the other hand may not marry men who are "people of the book." All that being said, the Muslim understanding of God's character and nature are VERY different from Christianity or Judaism, despite the historic ties connecting all three to the God of Abraham. A fairly high percentage of evangelical Christians will flat out claim that Allah is NOT the God of Abraham based on the magnitude of the differences, but even people like myself who take the historical ties more seriously (Mohammed hoped that the Jewish community would accept him as a prophet), the differences are still significant. The major theological differences surround the issues of the nature of sin, the incarnation, and what precisely constitutes monotheism. If you're actually interested I can explain in more detail the views of each faith on the subject, but those are the basic issues.
_________________
StickFigure Graphic Productions || VSHI: Vermont Sustainable Heating Initiative

Then they might as well release it for free. They aren't selling it anyway, why not let script kiddies have some fun with it, then upgrade to the sexy new engine if and when they want to take it to that level?
_________________
Signature image removed for anti-Semitic imagery.
Sound and video is perhaps a bit more fragmented on other platforms, but that's nothing a couple harsh decisions can't remedy (say, use just OSS and Mesa).

I am too lazy to actually make my own post so instead I quote people and then don't say anything new.

Sure, it's not a huge jump from one *nix to another, but standards on Linux are much more fragmented than they are anywhere else. Consider sound support. Linux usually has ALSA available, but no other unixes use that. OSS? It doesn't really have a mixer, so the game would have to hijack sound. JACK/aRts/ESD/whatever? Those all depend on another layer of software support which people might not be bothered to set up or have their own personal issues with.

I suppose the best way to approach such an issue would be to use one library to rule them all (such as SDL), but in the end any different libraries for media would likely require additional changes to a codebase they've probably already made extensive changes to in order to run the thing on Mac.

TL;DR version: Linux/BSD/whatever support would be nice, and probably workable, but I don't think they'll do it. Just consider the additional complexity of attempting to support a platform that requires the user to at least think they know what's going on. It wouldn't be pretty.
_________________
