Yeah I was rather amazed with how much of an improvement even S-Video is over standard Composite with my Wii. I would use Component if my capture card supported it, it does look great on my mom's HDTV.

Ah, ok. It just sounded like you were saying that EF-S somehow affects the focal length differently than other mounts, when in reality a 50mm EF lens would have the same focal length and field of view as a 50mm EF-s lens when used on the same body. Likewise, an 18mm EF lens is the same as an 18mm EF-S lens (on the same body). The EF-S lenses just can't be used on a full-frame camera without modifying either the lens or the camera.

Speaking of 50mm, I recently bought a Canon EF 50mm 1.8 Mk II on eBay! So now I have a good portrait lens for my 10D. It also came with a Rebel 2000 film camera.

Anybody want a Rebel 2000 for the cost of shipping? It's not really worth the hassle of listing it back on eBay (I'd be lucky to get $10 for it). Plus I haven't tested it so it might not even work. It looks like a decent camera if it works. If nobody wants it I can save it for my kids when they get older.

I've seen this before, though it didn't have a visible timer. I think a cool addition would be "charge bar" sort of thing. Every tap would recharge it, but it would drain faster as time increased. Points would be awarded base on time. Maybe a bonus could be achieved by filling the bar all the way.

I was thinking about making a party mode too, but then I thought about how you would choose which keys to assign to each player (left/right half of keypad? A select function at the beginning?). I think a gCn linkplay would work - instead of sending each keypress though, just update the score every few fractions of a second might work better. If you want the source to test out anything I can provide it, but be warned it was written in poorly-optimized Axe (10-15 minute job )

Lincoln: Most likely. I am close to having X (X11/the Xwindowing system) running properly on it, so I probably won't even really have to do anything crazy to get Doom running.

AHelper: It's not a project I feel like publicly announcing yet; I can neither confirm nor deny anything (but the fact that I'm working with Octave on it should tell you some things). Yes, it's a 3.2"-diagonal 320x240-pixel display, ironically almost exactly the same as the Nspire's screen except that it's a touchscreen.

It is exactly what I'm referring to. I have a crop sensor camera so the 50mm EF is the equivalent of an 85mm EF-S when attached to my T1i.

It won't get that hot here, but our lack of clouds is pitiful.

Not related to pixel art (well, yet), but it's my art thread so I'll post it anyways.

Well, it's not *technically* my first pony drawing, but it's my first non-traced one (and, by extension, I didn't use a single reference picture!) I've been working on my pencil art skills for the past week or so; I personally feel that I have some artistic talent, but I realize that if I don't train myself to use it when I'm at a young age, it'll be much harder to train myself later on. As for what I can draw now after practicing for a week, I can draw ponies pretty well (now that I've extensively studied their anatomy and face structure, the latter of which was something I struggled most with actually) along with some cartoony humans.

Anyways, here's what I just finished drawing:

I'm planning to make a pixel art of it later today or tomorrow, and possibly try making a vector. Who knows about the vector idea, I can barely seem to use Inkscape.

Um, what? EF vs EF-S doesn't affect the focal length; those are only two different lens mounts. Just compare your 18-55mm EF-S lens at the long end to the 50mm EF lens, and you'll see that they're almost the same. The field of view of a 50mm lens on a "cropped" sensor will be similar to an 85mm lens on a full-frame sensor/35mm film, which is probably what you're referring to.

And yes, shadows in full sun suck. It's one thing I hate about living in Valley of the Sun, Arizona. That, and the 106�F weather we're getting already. I just can't wait for July so I can fry an egg on the sidewalk for breakfast!
