Anybody know what colleges accept the Casio Prizm for use in class, and whether or not it's accepted on the SAT and ACT? I'd like to factor this into my college search, so I'm not buying two calculators.
Look at bottom of this page http://www.casioeducation.com/prizm/blue
That answers that. Are there any schools that specifically ban the Prizm?
not yet -- but once Prizm C and hacking in general hits a boom in a few months or years, smut on-calc will kill us all.
Ashbad, like people can't already use their smartphones, iDevices, and laptops for that? Razz

Very nice, and hmm, I wonder how exactly calculators get SAT/ACT approved...
One criteria is that they not have a qwerty keyboard. That is why the Nspire pads are all in alphabetical order.

Some act requirements http://www.actstudent.org/faq/answers/calculator.html

And some sat requirements on the right of this page http://sat.collegeboard.com/register/sat-test-day-checklist
ParkerR, thanks for finding those! That was very helpful, and gave me some very interesting ideas for one of my future projects.
I wonder if, in the process of making my wrist-mounted calculator, I could make the keys reconfigurable(by making each push-button a modular component with wires soldered to the appropriate base on main board's front) so I could have a qwerty keyboard most of the time, but reconfigure back to the TI-83+ format when taking tests.

Actually, I do beleive that there is a bmp viewer for the nspire (needs ndless I think...) smut could not be a factor as it is possible on the nspire too

not as easily in class. In class, you might be looking at something while your math teacher explains fractals Laughing
Anyway. Razz DShiznit, yes, that is more than possible, and indeed was part of the planned Ultimate Calculator 3 keyboard (although permanently, not temporarily, reconfigured).
