I think this is rather fascinating, since this was a probe sent out in 04 and has been by the planet in 08 and 09, but is just now getting to the point to where it is orbiting it. According to the article, over the course of the next year, they will be receiving around 75,000 pictures of the surface as they try to figure out some of Mercury's mysteries.
Are there any color photographs yet showing the planet's curve? That would be epic...

Those new photographs are pretty sweet with their detail. I wonder what kind of site they will set up to show off all 75,000 pictures, in the end.

I'm hoping for something Google Earth-esque. Actually, they should totally add the other planets to Google Earth; I think it could easily support something like that.
