I'm just trying to find a common link. Whether it's BrandonW's mod or not, but I am leaning more towards the mod since it is a modification and there could be undocumented/unknown glitches.

Indeed, same here. I think finding the commonalities of all (three?) of the users experiencing these problems would be a good step towards resolving it.
