I think I have discovered a way to make nameable strings in Basic, using Asm. When you associate a formula with a list, the data stored in memory like:

0000, size of formula - 2 bytes, formula stored exactly like a string.

You could create a string in, for example, Str0, the same size as the formula, then switch the pointers in the symtable so that Str0 points to the two bytes indicating the size of the formula for data. Then make a blank space of zeros in memory, make the list's pointer to data point there, and delete it. I cannot write this program in assembly, but I know it can be done because I have done it using CalcSys.

Could anyone make a program that can be run as a subroutine in basic programs that extracts the formula out of a list and puts it in a string?
