Hey everyone-

I have a ~6 year old Pentium 4 desktop that's becoming miserably slow at some things. I checked and it only has 512 mb of RAM and an open slot, so I'd like to upgrade. I've attached the CPU-Z specs of the system (as both html and txt in case anyone has a particular preference Razz). I'm thinking of adding a 1 gig stick of DDR, any recommendations? Anything in particular I should be sure to pay attention to or avoid?

anything you stick in there is bound to improve it a little.

though after 6 years it's well worth upgrading your whole machine

I just want to make sure what I choose is compatible. How particular do I have to be about latencies and bus speed and all that? I'm a little rusty.

I have a laptop as my primary computer, I don't ask a whole lot of this one. Just looking to give it a boost.

How about this stick? It looks like a pretty good match to what's already in there. I haven't heard of G.skill before, but they seem to be a reputable brand.

Is there anything I'm overlooking/other suggestions or should I go ahead and order this?
