Since it's such a pain to try to find anything in that 44 page thread, I'm starting a dedicated thread for nspire_emu. I'll keep this first post updated to always point to the latest version.

Edit: new versions are now posted to http://www.omnimaga.org/index.php?topic=6763, where you can download attachments without having to register.

Oh yeah, and here's imgdump, the program to decompress boot2.

New version:

  • Debugger allows simple expressions (just sums of registers and constants, like r0+100) as addresses
  • OS 2.1 CAS works now (it apparently activates automatic power down if the battery door is open upon boot. Changed GPIO bit 2 from 0 to 1 to indicate closed battery door.)
  • Added menu option to change keypad
  • Fixed bug where NEG instruction in Thumb mode didn't set C and V flags, found by ExtendeD
  • Can now send files to OS 2.0/2.01/2.1, yay!

New version:
  • Make keypad emulation more accurate (DIAGS is now responsive without needing the interrupt acknowledgment hack)
  • Add basic touchpad emulation (currently can only be controlled with arrow keys)

Many thanks!

Since 040 now also the CAS OS 2.1.0 is finally working.
Now it would be nice to also have a GTK version with a real calculator image ... Wink

For some reason, it says I do not have a permission to download the files.

Were you logged in when you clicked the download link? I think you need to be logged in to download anything here.

I am programming in Lua for OS 3 and I am getting tired of constantly moving my program to my calculator to test it so I decided to use your emulator. However, I can't get it to work with the modified OS (with TNOC) or the normal one. Is there currently a compatibility issue?

With the lastest version (link above) it works perfectly with the boot2 1.4 because f you read the first post of the link above, it is said that it is not compatible with dthe boot2 3.0. Just take a boot2 1.4 from an OS <=2.1

Here's exactly what I did:
I used both the TNOC and the normal versions of the OS and extracted them with 7-zip.
I extracted an OS 1.7 as well for its boot2.
I used imgdump on the OS 1.7 boot2 and got the .raw file.
I then made the .bin with the OS 3 - both versions
I ran the emulator and at 100% "loading operating system" it encounters an error with both versions. I took a screenshot of it.
What is the problem?

Dang the picture won't show up. The error code says: "BOOT2: loading complete (988 ticks), launching image. Warning at PC=100ABC38: Bad read_word: 8fff000c"

Are you sure you used the lastest version ? (0.52)
Because v0.51 is not compatible with OS 3.0 and what's happened to you was exactly the problem on v0.51
