Hi. I apologise if this has been answered somewhere else. However, after many many days and hours of searching the net I haven't come across a solution.

I have the ti-nspire Cas touchpad version and it came with the computer software. I would like to know how to install the computer software of it's equivalent in Linux.

Thank you all for any advice.

Which computer software ? The linking software, or the computer-based "emulator" ?

The TI-nSpire Computer Link Software is not compatible with wineHQ for Ubuntu 10.04 (just tested). The window is durty, no alpha buttons, and doesn't reconnize the Nspire.
TI-Nspire Computer Software : same. The licence management is not supported.

On linux, I use my softwares with Virtual Box and a WinXP image. It works pretty well.

TILP will allow you to do linking.
The CAS software does not work on Linux. If you must run it, use a VM. Else if you just need a CAS there are excellent open-source CASes such as Maxima, XCAS, and Axiom.

cool, and Levak, your batch file for it was great! I use it all the time now, just some grammatical errors (eg French to English) which i fixed a bit.
TIlp works well, i recommend you use it because it covers all the features (well except for screen capturing but another program, CalcCapture can do that).
Mostly what bwang said

Unless you're using Arch Linux, which is the only distro with up-to-date packages for libti*/gfm/tilp, I advise you to use the script I made for checking out / updating from SVN, building and installing libti*/gfm/tilp.
You can find it at http://lpg.ticalc.org/prj_tilp/download/install_tilp.sh , it's linked from the project's Linux downloads page ( http://lpg.ticalc.org/prj_tilp/linux.html ).

Be sure to look inside the script for customization (source directory, installation prefix - both by default in $HOME, which requires modifying PATH and LD_LIBRARY_PATH) and a list of build dependencies Smile
