The first thing i do is look at the numerator and put the base to that power and ignore negitive AT FIRST. So in your case i would square X. Then i look at the bottom part of the fraction and and then put the new modified base to that root so now we have ³√ (X²). Now we look at negitives. if there is one and only one negitive in the fraction then we put ³√ (X²) to the negitive 1. If both are negitive or neither is negitive then we leave the answer as is. In your case we will put it to the -1 power or put 1 over the answer. So now we have X^(-2/3)=1/(³√ (X²))Last edited by Guest on 10 Oct 2009 07:55:51 pm; edited 1 time in total
