I just found a way to easily get basic grayscale on the homescreen.
This could be used for sprites or cursors:

Code:
ClrHome
2->A
2->B
Repeat K=45
Repeat Ans
Output(A,B,"X  /first frame character
A->K
Output(A,B,"H  /second frame character
getKey->K
End
Output(A,B," " /one space
B+(Ans=26 and B<16)-(Ans=24 and B>1->B
A+(K=34 and A<8)-(K=25 and A>1->A
End

Try changing the first and second frame characters to get different sprites.

Jutt posted a map of the possible ways to combine two characters, with unshared pixels made brighter.

Wow. that does look awsome.. Although that would be pretty hard to do on the Calculator.

Oh.
I had a feeling it had already been done. :)

The map remind's me of this one:

I just noticed that there are differences between the two tables, so be on the lookout when using these:

[font="verdana"]т . 7 S V Y \ m σ

...as well as the [font="arial"]$ and [font="verdana"]ß characters that I failed to include.
