As I deleted all my social networking accounts almost jumping with joy I realized how much I love this place. It feels good to rid myself of it [social networking]. Thanks everyone here for making the internet [more than] tolerable, because this site is a safe haven from the idiots on the web.

Edit: Clarifications and grammatical edits.

*sigh* Clean-up on aisle three... Newbie had just finished articulating a sense of appreciation for this board and how it differs from other corners of the web, and then you go and post that kind of garbage. Consider the age groups of our visitors – some of them will be starting middle school soon. Consider also the locations where students might be logging in and reading this site's contents during the school day. At the very least, this is an example of one of those "when in doubt" moments touched upon in rule 11 from the Terms and Conditions.

Now, say you're sorry to Newbie for having nearly desecrated this safe haven. Wink

Hah. I understand completely. There was a time when I would see a website, go "ooh, this looks fun", and join. But then I realized that I was a member of a thousand different sites out there, most of which I had no interest in. So I narrowed it down to just a few sites that I remain active on. I still have a Facebook account, as well as Twitter, but other than that it's just three or four others. It's a great feeling to rid yourself of all those useless sites, and stick to the ones you truly like (like this one Razz).

Glad others feel the same way. I'm also glad this site has hung in there despite the lower activity it has had in the past 2 years.
