Ok it is not my calculator but just for curiosity:

1.
One friend has a calculator that "sometimes" just freeze and keys don't do anything.
He send to TI and they replied that it had "incompatible" programs (that I sent to him, I am the only that cares about calculator archives like ticalc)
Examples: phoenix (uses bcall(_getcsc) *evil look at TI*) and maybe some apps (maybe Omnicalc?). Not that much programs...

They devolved the same calculator "fixed". But it crashes the same way and he has not send any assembly program...
I keep asking him what things is he doing in the calculator. rofl

2.
Ok, other calculator, when he tries to see some menus or graphs, calculator goes freezed, show blank areas and crash.
He doesn't need to "exit" TI-OS code to crash. lol

Do you have any suggestion to help?

Try running a self test (mode alpha s)

Maybe an OS upgrade?

If it's a 83+ basic with omnicalc virtual calc/ram recover you might get strange stuff because of hardware issues (but I think omnicalc checks, though)

It is a 84+SE. I wouldn't send a SE stuff to a common 83+... Mainly to avoid any problem even if they tried some things (rarely).

The OS upgrade passed on my mind... The self test is an interesting idea. After he sends (again) to TI guys, if his calc is not replaced I mighty try that. Surprised

Resend the OS, do a self-test, and don't install or run any assembly programs and see if it still happens. If so, I blame hardware, and TI can't blame us or "incompatible programs".
