Here's the dealio... I've got a Lenovo T61 (amazing machine, in case anyone has the opportunity to pick one up second hand) dual booting Windows Vista (icky, but needed for a few programs) and Ubuntu (yay!) I boot into Vista maybe once a week. Today, I tried to boot into it for the first time in a while, and it started to continue updates. After a bit, it started BSODing, rebooting, continuing updates, BSODing, etc. I found if I kept putting it in Safe Mode, it eventually decided the updates were corrupt, removed them, and rebooted.

However, Normal Mode still BSODs as soon as I log in with STOP codes: 0x0000008E (0xC0000005, 0x00000000, 0xTHISCHANGESOBVIOUSLY, 0x00000000). Safe Mode is okay, and I tried telling Windows to do a "minidump," but it doesn't seem to be saving any log files...

I looked up this error code, and it looks as though the problems are usually related to hardware, particularly faulty RAM. However, I ran a RAM test without any problems, and I've been using Ubuntu for months without any issues.

So....erm...help please? *hugs*

Update: Safe Mode has started hanging right after loading crcdisk.sys, and I've got some log files here: http://www.thetreblemakers.com/logs.zip

I'm assuming the almighty backup/reinstall is not an option? Because that nearly always works.
