I have an issue where two of my dvd drives are not detected by my bios.

Steps I've tried to fix it:

Updated Bios
I tried them in another computer and they work
Replaced IDE cable
Set jumper settings to cable select

Oddly on occasion they do get recognized by the bios, but that's once in a blue moon.

Are they on their own cable? If you have another device on the cable, both must be Cable Select. It odes not work with only one drive Cable Select and the other something else.

Are you using the 80 wire cable or the older 40 wire cable?

Other than that, probably a bad motherboard.

Yeah, they were both on cable select and with the newer wire. I'm going to guess just a bad motherboard.
