I was thinking today that it is still officially fall, and then I looked out my window. We have had some snow lingering around since thanksgiving, but we got blasted last night, and throughout the day, and it's supposed to keep on snowing until Sunday.

The picture is pretty terrible but there is at least 7 inches of snow on the ground and we're supposed to get close to a foot more before the weekend is done.

I guess this is my official, "Welcome to Winter".

Is anybody else experiencing a bit of a winter blast already?

I'm from Michigan too (Ann Arbor). Compared with last year, I'm not sure 7 in. of snow constitutes "winter" Wink.

Anyways, welcome winter Smile , welcome freezing cold  , and most importantly: welcome crazy drivers who tailgate you on icy roads going 45mph!!

I'm from the Grand Rapids area, and last year we set records. We had 108in of snow if I am not mistaken. I hear this year they are predicting that we have even more snow.

Okay, I've gotta ask tr1plea this one cause I've been dying to know: Do maps over have south at the top or the bottom? I looked at one of those once and got a little weirded out.

Well, I'm not in Michigan but I moved to NW Wisconsin a couple months ago. So far it's more cold than snow. Yesterday was our first sub-zero night and there's just a little snow piled here and there along shoveled walkways because we had a couple days above freezing. It's funny because I have hydrochloric acid in storage and I'm afraid to look at what happened to it. :ninja:

But the lakes and rivers are frozen. My jogging route takes me along the St. Croix river where I can chuck a rock into the ice without it breaking through. Wouldn't walk on it yet though.

Yeah I'm from the Milwaukee, Wisconsin area and we've already had plenty of snow. It'll be interesting to see how this winter turns out. Good thing I have 4 wheel drive, though my tires suck for winter driving

Lucky you. Last time the power went out, it went out for 2 and a half weeks. Except it was ice that caused it, not snow Smile

No, not much snow here. We did get about .5 inches last night, but it all melted before this morning. It's actually warmer than I expected, but who knows what Mother Nature will throw at us.

Well the weather here changed drastically since my last post. It's been snowing steadily since my mid-morning nap and when I went out for groceries last night, the thermometer said it was -3°F (-19°C).

I really need a generator or at least a big inverter. Maybe even both eventually.

Yep, there is snow on the ground where I live. Currently the temperature is a subtly chilly 18°F (-8°C).
40% chance of snow on Monday and an 80% on Tuesday.
