It is easy. Humans. in babys use arms and legs to hum, I don't know the verb in English xD Then 2 legs and we are old we need a 3rd leg.

What is it? What is it?
Vanish mountains and hills
Destroy cities and countries
Is unstoppable and don't rest
And no one has seen it. Who is it?

What about "darkness?" No one has really "seen" darkness, just an absence of light. It hides things. And as for destroying cities and countries...Egypt during the biblical plagues was pretty messed up by darkness.

And give Galandros a break on the grammar. English isn't his first language.

that makes sense overtime mountains and hills erode due to wind and precipitation
cities can be razed and countries can be taken over which takes time
you cant stop time and time never stops well atleast not our preception of time
time to us is a way to catagorize events in an orderly fashion

I would agree with the guess of time. That was my first thought the instance that I heard it.

Here is a logic puzzle, not quite a riddle, but ... meh.

There are 3 people who are captured by cannibals. The cannibals decide to play a game with them and give them a chance to go free. The line the three guys up and show them 5 hats. There are 3 black hats and 2 white hats. They then put one hat on each persons head. The person in the back can see the two people in front of him, the one in the middle can only see the one in the front, and the one in front can't see anybody.

The cannibals give them 1 hour. If one person can guess what color hat he has on, they will go free. After about 30 minutes, the guy in front announces that he knows what color hat he has. What color hat is it, and how did he know?

its a black hat
because if front and middle both have white hats the back person must be wearing a black hat
and if only the front has a white hat the middle person would know he has a black due to reason 1
therefore the front person has a black hat

i got another one
why do flamingos stand on one leg

That is right. Yeah from Tolkien, I liked the riddle. But the book was lend to me so I started to invent some and remember. xD

Good one. I remember one with the theme like that. It goes:

You are captured by a tribe of cannibals. Their leader appears and says: if you say a true affirmation, you will be cooked but if you say a false affirmation, you will be cut in pieces and eaten fresh. (or something else, it doesn't matter, really)
What is the right answer that will let you live? (has to a phrase with sense and not a common paradox, ups I just helped hehehe)

That of flamingos, I don't know where the heck I should start thinking. But all good riddles solving starts like this if you aren't really good. Smile

For the true/false cannibal riddle, you can say, "I will be chopped up and eaten fresh." If they chop you up and eat you fresh, you will have said the truth, meaning they should have been cooked. If they cook you, you will have lied, and so they should have chopped you up and eaten you fresh.

Of course, then they'll probably just get pissed off, slice your head off, and leave you for the birds :P

As for the flamingo puzzle, I suspect they stand on one foot so they don't fall flat on their @55.

I think my answers are right, so time for a new riddle!

You have two pieces of rope, each of which burn from one end to the other in exactly one hour. You also have a lighter. How can you measure with relative accuracy fifteen minutes? Keep in mind that the ropes may or may not burn at uniform rates, meaning that if you cut the rope in half lengthwise, each piece might not burn for a half hour.

Look at a clock :P

EDIT: Or better yet, light both ends at the same time of one piece, and at the same time light only one end of the other piece.

...then when the first piece burns up completely, light the other end of the remaining piece and start measuring: you have 15 minutes left until it burns up.

correct

two trains are on the same train track both going in the opposite direction toward each other if one is going 50 miles per hour and the other is going 40 miles an hour and there is a total distance of 200 miles between them but they do not crash neither train breaks down or stops and the track never splits how did this happen
