Ok, I'm really not expecting very much here, but I was just wondering if it was possible to have specific away messages for certain people. It seems like it might be possible because of the ability to recognize screennames (%n) and there are those random away messages out there.

I know this sounds pretty odd, but I was just wondering if it could be done. (Well within reason, I wasn't really thinking along the lines of hex disassemblers and the like)

Does anyone understand what I'm saying?

Oh heh heh sorry. I thought I had said this was for AOL instant messenger.

Also, I was just thinking along the lines of specific messages for maybe one or two people, and just a general message for everyone else. To the effect of:
If screenname="JoeShmoe"
Then
Disp "Hey Joe! I'm eating"
Else
If screenname="Frankie28532"
Then
Disp "Hey Frank! How's it going?"
Else
Disp "Not Here =)"
End
End

Thanks!

You would probably have to write a Aol IM bot to do that. Perl would probably be the language of choice for such a thing.

Search Google for OSCAR and TOC protocol. You can write a perl program to send packets to the AIM server provided you follow the AIM protocol.

Thanks!

You can figure it out. Write it in Java (not javascript or perl)

Then setup your Java Runtime to execute the class compiled java.

Or, write it in C
