After about a day of typing and debugging, I think I have a working beta of Rush Hour Level Editor.

I know it looks a lot like the main program, but that's because I basically copied and modified the code of Rush Hour Greyscale.

I've attached a screenie demonstrating most of the features.

Current functions:

  • creating new levels
  • editing existing levels
  • adding/removing cars from maps
  • adding/deleting maps from the level set
  • clearing a map without deleting it
  • changing difficulty text
  • changing description text
  • archive support
  • 8-way cursor
  • 4-level greyscale

edit: Here's a beta. There are a few problems, like the fact that if you try running the levels created in Rush Hour Greyscale ver. 1.2 (current uploaded version), you'll end up with a blank level at the end, and the description might not fit. Also, because ver 1.2 doesn't have support for two horizontal cars in the 3rd row ("you" and a "friend"), it will think you have solved the level even if you only get one car out.

Looks like it's coming along nicely. Keep up the good work!
Just thinking, it would be cool if there was a level checker that made sure each level is possible. Then again, it would be fun to hand an impossible puzzle to a n00b and watch them struggle. Razz

Na, I think finding all impossible levels would be too difficult (or time consuming). Besides, it would be kind of fun to see that happen. Any bugs/issues so far?

edit: haha, found one bug myself. I've fixed it (accidentally put dec hl instead of inc hl). If anyone else doesn't find any bugs, I think I might be ready to upload it along with Rush Hour 1.3

I sure hope there are no bugs, but i've uploaded both Rush Hour 1.3 and the level editor. I'll post a link as soon as Darkerline gets around to updating it.
