Hi guys,

Someone here may have already heard about previous editions of zContest. It's an anual open constest, both for basic and asm programms, utilitarises and games. The official website is here , and you are welcome to participate as candidate or juge.

The dead line is on octobre, 1st, 2008. For example, some programs of last edition:

Orbe, by Evil Sourci:

Boucy!, by Davy8x:

Castlevania, by dancingmad:

There were also great basic programs.

So if you have any comment or idea about it =)

wow that orbe game looks amazing. Is that written with xLIB/BASIC or ASM? It's getting hard to tell considering what you can do with xLIB now. If Omnimaga ever returns this could be the first new RPG to be added to the archives in 2 years

Those look sweet!
I can't believe that I never knew about them. (well I know about Castlevania)

I don't think basic could ever compare to those games.
Even with xLIB, it would be a challenge to compete with that proficiency of asm.

The Basic and ASM entries are completely segregated. Razz If you check out the site, you can see the Basic winners.

Wow that OBRE does look great, particularly the nice 3-level gs!

Could zContest be a ti-scene contest that finally takes off as far as annual activity is concerned!

We hope that more english speakers will participate next year, and thus there will be fewer problems =) (we encourage french to write also in english, but you know with french people, it is not very easy .. )

Speaking of Zelda, what ever happened to that project called Zelda: Relics of the Past that was on Omnimaga?

I think that's not very hard to translate, if you want and if the author is okay, I can do it (I've already correct some mistakes to see if I can assemble it, because the source code is disponible).

That will be cool if Omnimaga reopens Smile
