hi.

im new in site please guide me .

i want to define function duration of a program . first it get from user function of g(x) in dialog box (for example request As = and user enter X^2+2*x )
and then i want to define it to a function for example X^2+2*x -> f(x). after that i use it for every value i want for example f(4).

please help me

You're posting in the TI-83 series section of the site, but your syntax looks like TI-89/92+/V200 code. Which is it?

The best way to do it would be to store it as a string, which is the natural data type with Request. Then to evaluate it at x=4, do expr(f)|x=4. This will even work if x is defined to have a value.
