Ive edited a 8xu file and uploaded it to the calc. But after the restart of the calc i get the "Waiting....."-Screen. I searched for solutions but only found this:(http://www.brandonw.net/calcstuff/84PlusBoot.txt)
But i dont understand it:is there somewhere in the internet a howto(-video) ?
Or is there any other way to validate a modified ti-84+ os ?

There's a reason why there's no simple how-to...it's illegal and you're not supposed to.

I'm of the philosophy that if you can't figure out how to do it, you shouldn't be doing it. I know that's a prickish attitude to take, but sometimes I just get in that mood.

Although, if you look hard enough, you'll find some ways.

EDIT: there is, of course, no way to validate the OS. I was just talking about getting it on there.

it is possible using tools that BrandonW has written.
I'm not sure how to use these, but I know they can do it:
http://www.brandonw.net/calcstuff/linkman.zip
http://www.brandonw.net/calcstuff/unlock.zip
look into those.

edit: I feel I should put a warning here, using these tools improperly(such as writing to the certificate page) can kill your calculator.

I'm guessing if you cause the calculator to not finish its validating, it wouldn't know it's modified.

In my view, that's the best attitude to take in this case. It's illegal to modify the OS; I believe it shouldn't be illegal, but that doesn't mean I'd condone it.

Why are you editing an OS file in the first place? They work just fine as they are. (usually Laughing )

No, you probably wouldn't want to use that app to unlock(I think you want to unlock) a program. That is a library for ASM coders (wierd) and you probably should forget about it for now. this may help.

Lol. That won't help. That program is for unlocking programs to be edited. What lolll wants is a program to unlock write access to flash memory.

Don't be sorry. It's no big deal; I just found the mistake a little amusing.
