:confused: Is there any cool little graphs that you enter in the y= button? Or any program that you type in basic. for staff: please dont send this topic to basic. Just a plea. My friend gave me a y= form and he said the result was supposed to do something with utah. All it did was create a wierd picture. :confused: |

I'm not quite sure I understand your English, but if you mean, what are some functions that produce cool results, I would try a simple google search for "cool graphing functions"
Here is one for the polar graphing mode from the second result...

Parametric equations.
Also, be sure to set Tmin=0, Tmax=2[font="times new roman"]π, and Tstep=[font="times new roman"]π/24. I don't know why ZTrig doesn't automatically define these.
You can even mess with Tstep to get different (worse?) results.

I was wondering if any of the individual graphs generated have specific names, like a rose curve or whatever (I never payed attention to my math teacher when talking about graph names)
All of the T parameters (min,max,step) were set to what you said

Well, maybe not, but I think this topic would be more at home in "Math and Science." ;)

Unfortunately, not every named curve is beautiful, and not every beautiful curve is named. ;)
A lot of nice stuff can be found at http://www.2dcurves.com/ and http://www.mathcurve.com/ (in French, but it does have nice animations).
Offhand, I have these nice curves:
x=(2+.5sin(AT))cos(t+sin(BT)/C)
y=(2+.5sin(AT))sin(t+sin(BT)/C)
due to N. Starr. These following parameter values look good:
{A,B,C}={8,16,4}
{A,B,C}={6,18,18}
and you might find nicer ones by playing (fooling?) around with the values. Be sure to use a small enough value of TStep. ;)

] is the triangle down or the \ thing pressed thrice.

Yes he does; that's pretty interesting.
And Goose? Your's took forever to type in (and to figure out that funky superscript symbol was [2nd][Apps][3]) but it was definitely worth it.
Since I have no creativity in coming up with ones, I'll point out a few by Super Speler.

The brick pattern can be done with Y1=Ymax and Y2=Y3=Ymin (all shaded above), but a more realistic pattern is achieved by:
For(A,2,4,2
Shade(Ymin,Ymax,Xmin,Xmax,A,A
End
As for another graph...
Y1={1,‾1}√(1+{1,‾1}√((1-X)³(X+1
Y2=‾Y1

Sometimes people just copy code out of programs like GraphLink, and symbols will be displayed incorrectly. Unless ? is in quotes (a string) then you know it is supposed to be something else. When posting code, there are two ways to get around this. You can either make substitutions like -> for store (as done by Darkerline), or you can copy symbols from someones signature. The second way takes longer, and is not used as often, but it makes the code look nicer. |
