I have purchased a 1978 Oday 23 sailboat. It is 23 feet long, and has room for 4 people comfortably in the cabin, but it could sleep six in good weather easily. It is a 3500-6000 dollar boat complete with trailer. I picked it up for 1250, so needless to say, it needs work. It needs a good cleaning, and a hole in the bow patched. Here are some pictures in a zip file...
Also, I just got the lighting and water to working today. I will post updates and pictures as the project moves along.
Edit: I will post pictures as soon as my computer gets out of its retarded spell.
Ok, if the computer is being retarded one way, go around it: Try these links.

There are about 10 within a 2 hour drive, Degray, Oauchita, Chico, Greer's Ferry, Regional, Lake Monticello, those, a few more are 4 or 5 rivers. It will take a while to restore it, though. It needs some work, but it will hopefully be a great boat.
Also, the radio wouldn't work, but the lights would. After hooking up another light and testing it, the radio started working, but the lights quit...retarded lighting system...

That actually sounds like a wiring problem, congrats to whoever owned it before you, anyway, im pretty confident because, on my dads car, when the hi-beams went on, all the digi displays on the radio would go off, and we know its a wiring error because when we picked it up from the used car place, they had taken the radio out, and reinstalled it before they gave us the keys, but of course, they did it wrong, and we know a car manufacturer wouldnt intentionally do that *thumbs up to the smart cookie that pulled that off*

welll, loook on the bright side, *flick on the lights* TADA! but at least youll be able to boat early morning, late night, hell, you could even just anchor and sit right out on the lake for a day, given youve got the supplies you need, and rain isnt expected
if its really that important though, and it might actually help one day, you could try wiring the radio in between the lights and the positive terminal on the battery...

It rained today, and I had to pump 10-12 gallons of water out of the bilge, all from the cockpit. The cabin was dry as a bone. I'll try to take more pics tomorrow evening after school.

We took the boat to the shop yesterday, the holes are being fixed, and it is getting painted too. I will update with new pictures when we get it back.

A new update, most of the work is done and the boat is about 85% restored. Here are some new pics with the mast up.
