Well, I have some bad news. Sonic will be delayed for a long while. During Hurricane Isabel, james's transformer blew and surged his computer, causing him to lose all data, which means he lost all of the code he had for the game. This will delay Sonic for a while, but hopefully won't end it perminetly. We'll do everything we can to keep this going. Sorry everyone |

this is a post (more than one sentance) how?
anyways... im sry to hear this... did the harddrive get damaged at all? or was it just like the power supply?
if the hd wasnt damaged you ight be able to save the data by putting the hd in another comp.
GOOD LUCK!!! |

Yeah, it'll be fine as long as the hd still works, if not, well, should have made back-ups. |

Yes, this is in fact a post. " " counts as a sentence, for the shock (I could have said "I am very surprised.") and "sobs" counts as a sentence (I could have said "I am now very sad")

noooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!!!!!
that was going to be an awsome game.
it was like 3/4 done too .
we should back it up on a floppy or something this time.
mabye even have it on someone else's computer that lives like really far away.
mabye even just store it on redelf.net in a password protected page or something.
Hey! That's a good Idea!
if someone requests to have there program backed up they could just get it backed up on the main page in a password protected site
hey won't we be able to recover the a lot of the sprites because of the screen shots posted?

The engine itself was 85% done, james was wating to show everyone until he had finished the first level, which he almost did. We'll try to start working on it ASAP. |

you should be able to restore evrything that was on that HD. It shouldn't be too difficult. I got an issue of PC magazine that shows how when you delete stuff on a hard drive, it's still there. In fact, it stays there untill it's overwritten 7 times! You will probably need special hardware and someone who knows what they're doing, but it can be done. You should take a break from sonic while you're waiting.

If all that happened was the power supply packed in ... then just get a new one. There shouldnt be anything wrong with the hdd at all. Unless it is some bs excuse because he hasnt really done anything .

Humm, maybe we should try getting back on track and except our losses. I had no idea James was that far on the engine, but since it's gone, let's not worry about it.
We can *all* get working on it again--let's make it a group project because the work is too much for one or two people. (David we need you!) |

Well, when you're ready.
I'm also swamped in school work so I can only work on weekends. |

What losses? I thought I told you that it can all be gotten back? What, did the HD burn to a crisp? |

Well, considering that James has been out of contact for a while now, how do you suppose we can get the code back? He's probably without a PC which means no coding, and I personally don't want to wait for him to buy a new one just to plug the old HD in. |

So, don't buy a new comp. Plug it into a different one. Someone has an extra drive bay, right? |
