Have you tried this post?

Thank you for your report. Could you try the following please.

open a terminal and type the following.

sudo cp /etc/network/interfaces /etc/network/interfaces.bak

then the following.

sudo gedit /etc/network/interfaces

scroll down the text till you get to the auto ra0 .....

Delete the two lines with ra0 in then save the file. then reboot your laptop. If that doesn't work you can do.

sudo rm /etc/network/interfaces

then

sudo mv /etc/network/interfaces.bak /etc/network/interfaces

and reboot that will reset to your original settings.

I wouldn't do that if /etc/network/interfaces.bak doesn't excist yet before you do the cp.

you are creating the .bak file, not using it, but I will give it a shot quickly.

no ra0 in my /etc/networks/interfaces

Heh, funny.

I got as far as editing /etc/network/interfaces - it does not contain anything about ra0 at all! Should it? Current contents are:<snip>

So I don't quote the entire conversation, here's the Launchpad entry I'm quoting.

Hence why the alternative plan of moving the backup back would never work, causing me to doubt the whole scheme has even been tested and would even remotely be able to work.
