I was wondering if RoboCode was ported to any of the TI8* series? I dont know how to code, but if it hasnt been, this would be great on the TI8* series. anyone know, or want to code this? or has it already been done?

That would be a great project for me to start on, but since I haven't learned assembly all the way yet... Wink

You could make it in basic.

It sounds like yet another complicated-but-possible project. Maybe after I'm done with the small Tron game I'm working on...

Very difficult...haven't you noticed the graphics and the complexity of the game? The calculations alone for damage in the game would stall it Wink

It could be turned into a sluggish strategy game.

Plus, the game itself needs to have some sort of robot editor, or allow robots made in BASIC, because the majority of the people who have a TI don't know a thing about ASM programming.

hey well at least some people sound interested in it. For the robot editor you could just make 2 separate programs, or just one big app. :D

EDIT:
i should probbaly specify the calculator(s) i would want it ported to. The TI 83+,84,84+SE. Since i only have an 83+ and a 84+SE i would hope it would be ported to those. Very Happy

When you make a game for the ti83+ it will generally run for the ti84+ and if it runs on a ti 84+ it will most certainly run on a ti84+se. Thats why you normally see them as a series: "the ti 83 family/series."

minor correction:
"the ti-83+ family/series.

the ti-83 and the ti-83+ family/series are generally not compatible, or limitedly so.

First someone has to write it in at least one calculator language...

Oh, and yeah, after I checked out what Robocode is, it would really be difficult to do in basic. Though you could make the robots in basic and have an asm program create the robots from the basic program.

Hey, i guess as long as it takes. It would be really cool on the calc, as its fun on the computer. Do you (or anybody) think this will actually happen someday/time?

I believe anything is possible, you just need to find a lonely geek with nothing better to do. No promises, but I might be able to throw something decent together

You stole my post

Why do you refer to the UTI community as geeks? Geeks are different than nerds, you know Wink
