It's because you have to bookmark a page in FF before the favicon is fetched.

Not seemingly, I have favicons for AIM Main and BBC NEWS that show up. I have no pages bookmarked, the Welcome to Ubuntu page is my homepage.

It was working when I posted earlier this morning, and now it's not. Strange.

I jump on the change bandwagon. The current theme is like a desktop theme that you really like, but then it starts to get boring after a while and you want to go change it.
I think a newer- and cooler-looking UTI theme would be nice.
And just to make it work for everyone, there could be the traditional UTI style and the newer UTI style and you can change back and fourth to and fro in My Controls.

The old one isn't bad, but if a new one that is proposed is better, then using that wouldn't be a bad idea.

"If it ain't broken, don't fix it." -> But if it can be improved, what's the harm in changing it? If nobody likes the new version, it can be changed back (or it could be a second preference that users could choose in their forum preferences, like Demon said.

And, although this happenned a while back in the thread, Weregoose wasn't really harsh, he was just trying to be straightforward (like Cure said).

[hums questionably, tilts head]
How's that bad? I'm just saying if there was a new one created, they could have both the new one and the old one availible so those that like the traditional theme could stick with it and vise versa. Heck, they could even have a contest and pick out several themes to use. Or, even better, it would be cool if users could customize the theme to their tastes and each user could have his or her own custom theme.

Welcome?

Well i think it would be kinda hard to redo the whole forum, because the forum is just using a preset template, i think. But im just talking about new banner. Switching back and forth is a good idea though.

Dude! That's flamebait!

@Wrp_baorder54: Nah, it was the whole favicon misunderstanding thing that did you in. Otherwise it probably would have stopped at "nah, that's not a good idea." We welcome new ideas, as long as they aren't stupid (not that I'm saying your idea was stupid, it wasn't).

If people want to make a completely new skin to go with a new banner, then ACC probably wouldn't mind adding it. After all, there are three different versions of the BlueGlass theme (bBueGlass, AmberGlass, AmethystGlass), as well as the IBP default.

A forum system/entire website isn't the same thing as a template. Wink

Nice one Lolbbq. Who's that on the photo?

So after reading it all, I think that if you were wanting to change something to the site, you should first talk to AlienCC or JBirk (aka NetWiz), as only they (I guess) have the power to change things.

It is possible that people find the background a little too formal, but as we don't know each other in the real life, then we just want to accomodate people, or at least, not have them running away because of some big animations.

Ok, I agree, it could be improved, but how, I don't know, so I don't ask for it being changed. If you want it being changed, then at least tell us how you would like it to get changed. Only saying it's bad will tell us that you'rennot0serious0orbnot interested of improving it.

@Wrp_baorder: The worst people can get for expressing themselves respectfully (teh important word here) is having people disagree with their opinion.

Highlight text. I don't want to offend anyone, but that's my point of view

ACC did indeed redo all the forum graphics for this site. For a brief history, look no farther than [topic="4126"]this topic[/topic].

Never said anything was bad, only that it could be done better. Everything can be done better.

If you want to know how i think we could improve the look. Here: Like i said in my first post. I want to change the BANNER. I think everything else is pretty good considering its a forum and there really is no need to improve the smilies. Wink

I got disagreement alright. Then i also got remarks like this...
