XP?

Control Panel -> User Accounts -> Change the way users log on and off -> Uncheck 'Use the welcome screen'. Maybe delete all users but one, I dunno.

That option controls wether you see the XP welcome screen or just a dialog box like in 98 and 2000.

What you want to do is run `control userpasswords2`. Unselect "Users must enter a username and password to use this computer" or whatever option is like that (depending on your locale). Apply. It should ask for a password for the user it logs in with, enter it. Ok. Done.

Or, like most other questions here, you could take your question of "how to enable auto login in Windows XP?", remove the 'how to' to give you "enable auto login in Windows XP", and ........ google it. Would have been faster than typing it up here and waiting for replies.

Just to help, I was reading PCWorld and they mentioned Tweak UI. It sounded interesting, so I got it. Lo and behold, one option was "Autologin."

You can get it for free here.
