I'm using the most recent version of opensuse 10.2 with opera 9.10. I installed it with yast and it wouldn't start. When I clicked on the icon and it just tried to load and then quit. I tried the tar.gz package found on there website and still had the same effect. I have a version of QT3 installed too but it just will not load. Is there anything anyone can suggest?

That's weird... YaST...I assume you're using SuSE (10.1)?

I never had these problems. I know when 10.1 was first released, YaST was broken, but since you tried the tar.gz from the site, it shouldn't be that. Did you receive any errors while installing?

Oh, and try

Code:
sudo opera
. Just running a program through root has helped me many a times.

I'm using opensuse 10.2 with opera 9.10. I didn't receive any errors upon installation from the terminal which makes me wonder why this isn't working. I pretty much have nothing to go on aside from the fact it's not loading. I assume you mean try sudo opera from the terminal for something? I'm not at my computer with linux right now so I'll have to try that later. I'll also give a try running as root too. Thanks for your help, I'll get back to you to let you know how everything went.

Turns out that Opera had to be run from within root. I'm going to try to figure out how to allow all users to use Opera.
