it will be basic/asm hybrid
asm for the stuff i cant do in basic (shutdown, sound,sprites  , lowercase, contrast,etc.) and basic for the rest. i have been told nothing about other basic os's, other than thwy suck, and I hated them too, so i decided to go make one of my own that wouldnt suck. so far, its great. heck, other than speed and only nostub asm and keyhooks (might be able to do them if i find a prgm), it will be better than mirage!

at the time of post, the dynamic desktop (holds 9 items max) is almost done. password and ID verification work perfectly.

thats all in line. im almost done with the dynamic desktop(dd). it can hold 9 max items, be them prgms, mp3s, shortcuts, icons, VxDs (aka settings files)
all icons/cursors are changable. i have a pic viewer, worknig on a music player, gonna have a paint prgm, a calc (so you dont have to leave the os)
also, from here on out, DOS will stand for DragonOS, not a crap disk operating system!
heck, when i get older, i might convert DragonOS from the calc to the comp! |

With so much stuff like this, why not just make it an actuall OS? I'm tired of going to the ti website to download the newest OS, only to find it's Identical to the last! And I still like the sound of Dmp3  |

heh, when im done learning asm and i can beat Michael V. in some sort of contest, i probably will!
update: the desktop works now, the Dmp3 is coming along nicely, adm.wiggin is working on a direct input getkey prgm so that DOS will have a 8-way scrolling mouse!
it checks on startup for the subroutine libraries so that an error isnt returned later in the os. icons are coming along great. more will come.
no pics are used outside of the prgm, except pic7 for a custom background if you want it. however while the prgm is running pic 5 will be modified to decrease prgm execution time while a window closes so that it just recalls the pic instead of redrawing the whole destop (which takes about 10 seconds with all 9 objects).
think i should move this topic to the "start your own project" forum?

That would probably be wise.
Anyway... my original idea for windows was an OS, so I could probably help you, if you want. Just give me 28 days ;)
Not only are the ninjas less, but so is the number of posts they appear in!

i decided to leave this topic alone and started my own topic in "Stat your project"
i have always worked alone on most of my prgms b4, but any help would be greatly apreciated. ill see what i need done and get back to you.

When you upload it to ticalc.org just write in the "Comments to Filearchier" box that you would like Morgan to make an animated screenshot for it. I usualy don't mind these requests...as long as you don;t do that every time you upload a file.

well, he named himself Morgan, and he said to tell "Morgan" to create an animated screenshot in the "comments to file achiver" box when you upload your files to ticalc.org and that he usually doesnt mind.
what this tells me:
Morgan (person reffered to in post) works for ticalc.org
Morgan (poster) is Morgan (person that works for ticalc.org)
he makes screenshots, and is the file archiver
other than that, i have no clue who Morgan is.
this is sufficient to get a very warm welcome from me!

I'm pretty sure that this is the Morgan from ticalc.org. I volunteered to help out with making screen shots for ticalc over the summer and we had each other on our AIM lists for communication purposes. I never really bothered to remove him, and a little while ago gave him the url to here...  |

Well, I don;t know how you guys feel about stuff being of topic, but this certainly is.
Back to the point at hand....I do accept requests for screenshots for non-asm files however if your file is in asm, don;t worry about it...I make screenshots for those without question.
