Yes, a big increase in spambots..

nah Wink its mostly project updates. I have been out of UTI for 6 months so I dunno if they got lot of release lately but digitan is making a sequel to robowar, on other TI forums there is a few other projects as well.

Is it me or did the community was slightly more active this summer than last summer? Coding wise i mean

Anyone make a working on-calc assembler? I was thinking about it but...

c_plus_plus was working on one called phasm. Haven't heard much news on it lately though.

Phasm. I read the "readme" file for that. Looks adaquate. I would like to see it when it comes out. Maybe I should make a on-calc assembler.

I know of one in the works by a worthy author. I'm working on an assembler myself, although not one for on-calc compiling.

My Phasm project has stalled (note the continual "15%" in my sig.) I curently lack the drive to work on it. I will get back to it.

One of the problems with on-calc assemblers is the size of a program. If you do the bare-bones, numerical-label style assembly, it comes up to around 4 times bigger than the compiled program (which still allows for pretty big programs). However, if you want to have comments and variable names, well... the Phoenix source is about 200 kilobytes.

This argument already took place in another thread. I also know that this assembler would be incapable of assembling Pheonix.

That's one of the problems I thought of when I started to work on an on-calc assembler that I called "ZASM". There was no efficent way to read an archived source prog with a flash app. Yeah, I thought it would be better to archive the source code, that way, it didn't take up ram space so you could make a huge source prog without worry. I use Chasm still to date, I don't assemble on my computer at all. Most of my projects in fact were made with Chasm or some I even assembled by hand. I made some pretty big progs too. It's hard to do, but I like the challenge in it. C++ was too easy. That's why I started asm.

Do you have a copy of the beta for Chasm 2?

No, I don't... I'm not sure that it actually worked though. The kid that said he was making bailed before it came out. Hmmm. If only I could get TASM's source code that might make this easier...

Hey, I got myself an 84+ silver not long ago -
I've been reading the boards but haven't signed up or posted until now.

I've wanted to make something similar for the calculator because the built-in language is way too slow. However, I wasn't thinking it would be an assembler-like language... I was thinking of something easier yet something that allows for semi-complex code to be written (which, it turn is compiled to assembler language). Can't start it/give help for at least a week though, I have summerwork through the roof...

Assembly is fairly easy enough. But I suppose to do that it wouldn't be too hard. I thought of it but... An on-calc assembler will do so much better...
