Cobb, there is a problem with unarchiving all the tables...Once you have them all unarchived, and go to play the game and you select your table, the calc resets! That is the only problem that I could find! It doesn't matter much to me, because I really only play two-three tables anyhow....but for other users who want to try each table, they cant unless they leave one archived.

Actually, the game shouldn't even start if the free RAM is not enough. When all the four tables are in the RAM, it definitely can't be (not even on the 83!). Maybe the shell is so brainwrecked that it ruins the memory pointers? Is that Mirage?

It was in Crunchy and Mirage...Once I unarchive every table, I have enough free ram to run the pinball game, but not enough to run a table. Thus if you try and play a table, instead of going back to the shell or menu...it resets your calc. It was just a bug I noticed, people will try and unarchive all the tables and then try and play the game...goto Ticalc.org, somepeople have already stated this little bug.

edit: this was on an 84+ SE...

There should be no difference regardless of whether you play or not. The program starts with allocating the necessary memory to load ANY table (the editor doesn't let you export tables breaking the barrier) and it immediately fills the whole area with zeroes. So if the tables cause a crash, the menu should as well...

ok...I didn't know that! Neutral
Like I said, everything works fine...but once you go to play any one of the tables, the calc crashes. Provided you have all the tables unarchived! I don't know why, it crashes. I don't think the tables are causing the crash. Because they all work fine, but you just can't have them all unarchived at the same time. Like I said, I don't know what the problem is! I just thought I would bring this bug to your attention! The menu works great....

Try adding in sound... wouldn't it be cool whenever the ball hit anything, a bleep would sound off? One extra tiny piece of code... so many more people would dl the game though. Games with sound seem quite popular (like that one with the guy climbing things... the highger he goes, the higher the pitch).

Adding sound to this game is not really straightforward, but it might be possible to do something really simple. There are no spare clocks for this purpose, so it would be added at the expense of game speed.

I guess you could say adding that feature isn't as easy as it...sounds. Er, sorry. I couldn't resist.

CoBB, how did you manage to make the TI-82 ACE version? Are there any good tutorials, or is it just a matter of adjusting all the ROM_CALL addresses. Some expert advice would be music to my ears.

First of all, the code doesn't depend on many ROM routines. Basically vputs is everything it needs... There are no tricks here, I simply used the addresses found in SDKs and memory references. You should check out the file models.inc, it does most of the work related to platform independence.

I didn't develop it specifically for ACE though, only CrASH and SNG.

Ok...I hear you have fixed the problem! YEAH...I cant wait! I had narrowed the bug down, but I wasn't sure exactly were it was at the moment. I had only looked at your code for a moment. But the guy at Ticalc.org figured it out first! Oh well at least it is fixed! Laughing One question...could you perhaps have it when you pause, tell you how many balls you have left? (somebody is gonna comment about that) Just a nice little feature, that would come in handy! I don't think it would be that hard to add. Wink Of course you don't have too, but I would like to see it! Smile

Great game by the way! I sat there playing it in math class...it got a lot of attention from the people around me. (Ohhhh, is that pinball?) (Wow, this game is sweet!) You know stuff like that!

I really like the editor, it's really easy to use!
Currently I'm making a Plinko-esque game (search Google Image, "Plinko"), and some other iteresting, innovative tables...

The fixed version is out. If you have a 83 or 83+, you should download it to prevent crashes.

Say, CoBB. How did you get it featured on ticalc? Was there some kind of application?

I did nothing. I think they really check out everything that gets uploaded and post a news item if they think a contribution deserves it. The same thing happened with Death Rally.

Basically I have a 100% featured ratio since this system is working. Smile Formerly they wouldn't monitor uploads, but that was long ago.

That's cool. I guess it's good to know they aren't in the dark about new programs. I'll bet their eyes lit up when they saw "pinball" in the description. Cool

A beautiful RTFM question. It's right at the beginning of the editor's description... It's the Export item in the File menu. Simply specify a file name without extension or choose the xagt file from the list (don't worry, you can't overwrite it with the 8*p files).

I've got to add one more comment, CoBB. How did you come up with that awesome flaming letters effect in the game menus? That's some stunning eye candy! And are you going to ask ticalc for an Acelgoyobis "tables" folder?
