Okay, the calc simulations are up. These have already been converted to 4-level grayscale. Basically, it was a matter of scaling down the image in GIMP, editing in paint, importing/dithering with Calc GS, and editing the pixels that didn't alias quite the way I wanted. The 4th and 5th stages also have their own postcards.

Postcards are a great addition as is the stadium stage ... that alone will increase the replayability massively!

It hasn't been programmed as a 83+ game yet, but thanks to some help from Spencer, I might look into Duck's Grayscale or something similar. Whatever will do it in a small space and looks good of course.

Is the grayscale for pictures only?

You might be able to get away with not using an interrupt grayscale routine since if its a single image, you wont need other things going on in the background.

ya, that's what I was thinking too. Maybe even get 8 level if it's just pix using your own routines.

New Feature: Dynamic Camera!

Sometimes having the action centered on Edgar is just fine. For those fierce enemies, you might want to keep your distance. But when you play on a 9x8 grid, it used to be hard to keep the enemy on-screen. Not any more! The new dynamic camera will follow you and your enemy. Well, not totally. If you run too far away, the camera has no choice to follow you exclusively. But for the most part it helps make up for the small screen size by keeping everything visible.

When you're very far away. It has the added bonus of giving away their general location.

Only bosses, significant enemies, and special events will trigger the dynamic camera.

Yep. Thanks to some help from Spencer, the TI-82 code can be assembled in both TASM and the Spasm assembler. A lot of work needs to be done to put this in flash, but the 83+ version is definitely close.

well I might be able to acquire an ti-83be so if you make a version for those I'll take it at least until the 83+ version comes out.

The dynamic camera looks great! Takes the midpoint between you and the object?

That's correct! The camera follows a mid-point that is calculated by the enemy. If the enemy is too far away, the mid-point has a clipping point where it won't go any farther from you!

If the dynamic camera feature looks good, I might include that feature for regular battles as well. (Probably a good poll topic)
