For those absent, last night several of the people from the IRC channel got together in a skype conference call (AlienCC, Weregoose, Adm. Wiggin, CDI, shadowing, Zandro (Weregoose's brother), Iambian, and myself). It was really cool to hear all of the different voices, as well as hard to tell them apart sometimes. Sadly not everyone wa able to speak (people sleeping nearby, etc.), but everyone had some way of listening and those that didn't have voice capabilities communicated via a skype chatroom.

I'd like to do this again sometime and have more people! I can support up to 18 people in a conference, if anyone else has two sound cards we can hook up more. Last night the chat went from about 11pm GMT-6 to 2am GMT-6, and that is the best time for me.

I'll have to check to see if I can but I'm pretty sure that I'll be able to. I haven't used the microphone on this computer so we'll see. I'll have to download skype to this computer too. I'm using a different one than normal so...

That's awesome... I'd love to participate.

For those without a mic, remember that you could also plug some headphones into the mic input Wink

If you all want, I fixed my speaker issue, but I have a cable so I can plug, say my mp3 player or my CDplayer (or even my cell xD) into the mic so I can supply music

Well, I am! Make sure you have the latest version of Skype installed (about 10MB) and one of us on your contacts list so that we can add you to the chat when it's about time to begin. The IRC channel is a good place to hang out and prepare for the conference! Smile

we all sound funny, so you'll fit in ;)

Either hang out in the IRC channel or send a message to "Telroth" in skype and i'll pull you into the chatroom, and I'll start the call from there.

The conference has ended. Aside from shadowing having a voice this time and a couple people having been added into the chat, we didn't do that much better than last time. Let's try it again tomorrow, when even more people have braved a ten-minute download and five-minute setup. Come on, folks—let's at least one of us break the ice for the rest! ;)

–Goose

P.S.,

It was awesome.
