after almost 4 months of no programming on my TI, i have decided to update my very first program Propad...............
the very first version that i used to call it Provpad..... took me 40 hours to program (what the hell)...... hehe........ anyway the new version will have the following features..........
Password entry
Password (encrypted, so that you cant just recall the string)
Ability to uninstall everything, meaning deleting all the files related to the program
Change, edit the password
Send notes to other Ti 83 plus (link cable needed)
scroll enabled, for unlimited data (depends on how much ram you got left)
auto archives and unarchives the file
so far that's it, but i might add data encryption, once i figure out how that is done......
it might take a couple more days or weeks to finish, since i am having problems with the password edit, but that's no biggy........
if you want to see the past version...... 1.8 of propad check it out here
http://www.ticalc.org/archives/files/filei.../263/26398.html
to check on my past programs go here
http://www.ticalc.org/archives/files/autho...rs/68/6886.html
i had around 15 programs but never got to release them....... |

i made a password thingy once. it was IMPOSSIBLE to reverse calculate and took up 2 list elements
to check to see if the pw is correct it simply ran the script again and compared the outputs |

hey! after a few weeks of not programming on my TI, i decided to update my program Propad, good news is, that i've finally fixed the password program.........anyway, im still adding new features of the program, like bomb data, meaning erasing all data after a couple of unsuccessful password login attempts, what do you guys thing about that.......
also, all files are encrypt so you cant just recall strings............... if anyone want a beta program , just email me at providence@prokul.net
thanks! |

i dont like the idea of "bomb data". someone attempts to get into the prgm. try too many times. all of YOUR documents get deleted |

Yea, that would make sense. SOme people don't want to loose all their data if someone tries to get into their stuff. |

I see no piont in having a "bomb data" feature. It would be doing most hackers a favor. Usually, in order to delete everything you have, they would have to figure out your password and then manually delete everything. Now they just type anything about 5 times or whatever, and they get their job done. Or, what if you forget your password and don't realize it? Then you're trying words you think you may have used, and BAM! Everything you did is gone. </rant> |

That will help if you forget the pass, but the hackers can just type whatever and bomb your data. It's a very stupid idea which defeats the whole purpose of trying to protect your data. Obviously if they can't figure out your password, they won't get to the data. If they could get to it without the pass, they wouldn't even try the pass in the first place. |

KABOOM... thats a cool word, reminds me of the show "KABLAM!!!" that was a cool show back in its prime
well enyway... i agree with JACstudieos, why protect your data? hackors are evil (the popular ones) and they will do anything to get to YOUR data and bomb it. not any1 elses data, just your data. if im sounding like a dumbass right now i just woke up and im posting perly on what i think i read (im not very accurate at time) |

Why would anyone just clear your ram for no reason? If thats a problem u could use omnicalc (the ram backup feature) to restore the ram. |

back to the original question: why would you want your ram cleared?
why would anyone, under normal circumstances, WANT their ram cleared? its insane! to clear someone else's, maybe. but not their own.

if you have archived the good programs it works for cleanup... If you are one of those kids who have every game ever made on their calculator, then it could be good.
And without it, where would all those nice Fake RAM Clear programs be?
