Seriously, though. Either infusion or siphon sounds great. |

Heh heh. Good one alex. Siphons' a good, short description. I'll go with that one. I'll try to get some concept videos up after I get the first level playable.

Hey, what's wrong with rainbow patterns?!
I think it's easier to see the range of colors when they are in order.
I see that you've also left out my favorite color.
I'm glad that you're making progress on this though! |

Heh heh. Sorry about that axcho. I'm really limited on the color options I can support, so cyan would have to fall under the blue category.
@ Liazon
It's for TI calcs (no greyscale), but I wanted to use color choices give the gamer a an abstract idea of how his choice might affect character development. Due to knee pain, I was indoors alot this weekend and got a HUGE amount of progress done. The battle engine supports Blaze and Ghosting mode, plus the basic melee attack (way, way ahead of schedule). |

Currently:
Rage - Randomly invokes a breif "bullet-time" effect where you can repeat melee hits a number of times. It works sort of like the timed attack in RW1 so it has to be well-timed. Enemies are thrown much farther than normal.
Blaze - Fireballs accompany all your melee attacks. In addition to doing the normal crescent stike (see Oceanside trailer) - the fireball targets one random enemy and explodes into smaller blazefires on contact. No additional energy cost.
Hyperspeed - All of the character's running and accelerating happens at twice the normal rate. This includes jumping & falling. The character becomes invincible when he reaches his top speed. The "Longhaul" trucks in the video are moving close to this speed.
Heyday - You get an accelerated "luck" state that makes enemies drop more coins. Chance of "x2 hit" bonuses are doubled. There's also a "Jinx" effect that may freeze enemies in place if they get too close. It also does random stuff like blowing up barrels.
Shield - Breifly protects you while doing a melee attack. The effect only lasts 2 frames, but you'll be protected on all sides. The shield can also explode barrels and cause other effects on nearby objects.
Gateway - You can only activate this one in mid-air, and it takes practice to master. Double-tap the D-pad during a jump to teleport. Then, D-pad around to set your destination point. This usually takes less than 1 second and uses only the jump and D-pad keys. Wickedly fast travel!

Sounds pretty awesome. This game just keeps on getting better. Keep up the good work programming.
Shield sounds a bit weak though, looking at the other abilities. Is two frames really long enough to protect you, or will you have to time using your shield really good when someone is attacking you? |

Should be enough shield frames. The crescent strike move in the video is only 3+ frames long. The sheild is really useful because the enemy doesn't have to be in front of you to get hit like with the crescent. Right now it's really clobbering enemies so I might tweak it to only repel attackers.
Other stuff tested:
* Mutual Damage - (touching an opponent)
* Crescent Attack - your normal weapon
* Fire - a good short-range move
* Water - floating bubbles. A great surface-to-air attack
* Spark - high speed/long distance attack. Probably best for beginners
* Shadow - a steerable projectile. Very fast!
* Dizzy attack - a spinning crescent move. A little less protection than shield
* Spin attack - same as dizzy attack but without a dizzing camera effect |

I'm lost on what the D-pad is. After staring at my calculator for several seconds wondering if there's buttons I've been missing out on. |

I wish. But I have absolutely 0 experience with 92+'s except for borrowing one once at school. The good news is the game is depeloping way faster than the original. That might leave some possibilities for ports. But I should probably get the original ported before I can tell how well that will go. |

Oh right, it's directional pad. Though I guess it's not really one pad on my calc. The game treats it like one, but they're all independent keys. |
