I was wondering if ther is a way to prgram games and other stuff without using the link because I dont have one? And if ther is a way to get the codes that you enter into the calculator to program the game? If you can help please email me or reply thnks Wacko

Of course you can make games without using the link. You could make them yourself or type them in. Read your manual if you want to make some games.

Sure, you could do it either way, but spending the $15.00 is really worth it, because you can download apps! Anyways without using a link cable

1)Download and install the 'Ti-Graph Link Program'
2)Download a file and open it with the same program
3)Take you calc, look for the program key (PGRM)
4)Press Left <> Right to change options, Up<>Down to select programs
5)Goto create, enter a name,
6)Copy the code

it is really worth getting the link, i got the usb one for like 15 dollars and i got my money back from it, they sent me $15 just for trying it

I got a prereleased beta USB link someting like 2 years ago, and it only works about 1 out of 50 times. My math teacher then had connections with TI. Sadly thats my only link ever since my black link broke.

i got my black link for 5 dollars

its in a real nice baggie

along with graphlink 4.5

that sucks too

Oh wow, in a real nice baggie? Cool! The links are very inexpensive, like 15 bucks or so, and you can make your own. There is no reason on earth (or heaven or hel *crosses self*), not to own a graphlink.

No money + no parts to make one yourself (no radio shack like shops) = reason not to have one.

I myself do not own a silver link, but my friend does and I use it here on my computer which runs Win 98 and is very very old. My firend had problems with it, but it works perfectly on mine. Fluke I guess...

theres 2 ways you could do this without a link cord...

(1) the easy but can get very annoying way
steps for this method
1. Download TI Graph Link
2. Make sure it works
3. Download a game (make sure you know what folder you download to)
4. open the game with the ti graph link
5. copy the code by hand

(2) the can be very long and tedius adventure
1. study all the programming in TI manual
2. go to any site the teaches BASIC (ti-83 basic)
3. study
4. rinse and repeat until you know how to program
5. make your own games

luckily for me i had a programming background (which really helps) before i started learning BASIC. if you dont have a programming background BASIC is a very good place to start, since it is the easiest language i know. btw the only reasic BASIC is because everyone else does it and it makes me feel popular

You don't actually have to type in the commands, they are already listed. Once you hit [PRGM], arrow over to New:, hit Enter, and enter a name for your program-to-be, pressing [PRGM] again will bring you to a different menu with all of the commands.

Note: Quite often you will want to include other calculator commands, such as Line( or sum( or whatever, which can still be found in their usual menus and can often be used in programs. Some however need extra parameters, such as a pair of list names for stat plot. All of this is explained in your manual (silver edition has the manual on the cd) under the section for that function.

You may already know all of this, but i just wanted to add my two cents worth. Very Happy
