The Development part of the forum should be broken up into various calculators or calculator groups. I own a TI-89, but I keep looking through topics that don't pertain to it. The dialects of tibasic are way too different for all the topics to be grouped.

More subsections, please!

Have you any idea what you're asking? That requires going through around 1000 topics (and actually reading at least part of them, too) to sort them into the respective categories.

That being said, if a couple more people think this would help, I'll do it.

Argh... can't find it!

I truly don't think it's necessary. There will be, what... 20 topics at most on 68Ks?

you wouldn't really have to sort them just make a new forum for new topics

that being said i feel that it should be done because they are indeed different dialects and although there would be few 68k that is the point, making users look through countless topics for their needs is not very conforming to uti's goal to be as helpful as possible to those who need calc help

I disagree, like braz said, there arent much topics on 68K anyway. This discussion had been held before, i believe someone came with tags in the topics name, like [68K] How to annoy in TI-Basic.

There aren't much people at all with 68K here, you could always go to a specialized 68k basic forum.

I really don't think tags would be a good solution. Most of our questions come from relatively new users who won't know to put a tag, or to search for the tag when trying to find the answer to their question.

What exactly is wrong with making a subforum for TI-89/92/+ calculators inside the main TI-Basic forum? It won't clutter up the main forum page, and as for the low number of topics... we have plenty of forums with less activity (most notably, every last one of the project forums). Besides, the very fact that there's a separate section for those calculators might attract more users for them.

Edit: for possible future reference, here are all the TI-89 related topics in the Basic forum (I don't think I've seen any in the assembly forum, though):

Thx Brazucs or whoever set up that subsection, now I don't have a bunch of people with TI-84's asking me what a folder is.

That would be me. Discouragingly, about a third of the comments in that forum are from me, but I'm hoping this will encourage more TI-89 users to come to UTI.

One of the bad things about 68k basic is there aren't many tutorials for it, and the manual doesn't really help matters... I have one of the few 89 BASIC tutorials on my site, and someone else was going to write some, but only got three published before he dissappeared...

Ah, I noticed the new subforum today. I think it's a great idea. I'll move any topics I come across, too.

I must add myself to the rather small ranks of 68k calc owners. I usually hang around and write code for newbies (such as a saving/loading routine for a game, and a Very Annoying Program).

68k Basic is very easy to learn after you learn z80 Basic. Structurally, the two languages are very similar. You just have to learn to suppress the anti - ) instinct.
